Next Week: Onions, Bells & Organics
Jeff's Field Update ~
Watermelon Buyers:
We're opening new field Monday in Coachella; We have availability with big sizes red seedless in lush big vines extra Sweet and cutting Red!!!!
Annie's Organic Watermelon program starts on Monday in Brawley, California. All sizes of Red Seedless with Organic stickers and Docs; when I visited the field a couple of weeks ago the vines were lush and green.
Onions in Bakersfield are now drying and curing in the burlap on the Home-Ranch...the sweet reds and sweet yellow/brown onions are diamonds with the cooool weather and uniform temperatures...the regular whites, reds and yellow-browns will all start next week..Call Onion-Jack for your needs.
Bell Peppers will also start mid-week next week for Pepper-Karen...she's ready to take your orders...demand seems very strong!...Quality Exceptional!!! Sooooo cooool temps this growing season!!! Still picking Green and Red Cabbage on the Bear Mt. Ranch here in Bakersfield....load all of these items on the same truck.

Crop Upade ~ Jeff's Field Report
Watermelon Buyers:
The Watermelon Market is now very steady with undertones to improve; many fields in Coachella and the south Desert are now done or burned badly from the intense Sun on 5/31/11. Mexico crop production is winding down per Market News and it has variable fruit quality...last call this week if you have Yellow Flesh needs and get your calls in early for Red Seedless as we almost sold-out today even on a Wed.
